Frequently Asked Questions

What time should I arrive for both events, and what time will they end?

Please arrive by 9.00a.m. for the ceremony, and 6.30p.m. for the reception. The full timeline is available here.

What should I wear to both events?

We want you to look and feel your best! Attire guidelines for both the ceremony and reception are available here.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Both will be conducted indoors.

I’m not religious or I’m practising a different religion — can I still attend the ceremony?

Yes, absolutely — we would be so happy to see you there! The ceremony is, to us, the most significant part of our day, as it is where we will be united in marriage.

While it does follow a format similar to a traditional Mass (church service), it’s tailored for a wedding; the Church does not expect our non-Catholic guests to participate in any religious parts.

Can I bring my child(ren) to the ceremony?

If your invitation includes your little one(s), they are certainly welcome to attend!

Tip: In the event they become restless or loud during the ceremony, please feel free to utilise the porch outside until they have settled — doing so will help maintain the sacred nature of the Mass.

Where is my assigned seat at the church (for the ceremony)?

Seating is open for all guests. There is no designated “groom’s side” or “bride’s side.”

Where is my assigned seat at the hotel ballroom (for the reception)?

Upon arrival, please provide your name at the welcome station and a member of our bridal party will assist in locating your assigned table. Ushers will also be available to direct you, if needed.

What are the food and drink options post-ceremony?

All food served is either halal or pork-free (and will feature some of our favourite things!).

What are the food and drink options at the reception?

All food served at the hotel is halal, and we are also able to provide a vegetarian option as an alternative to the default menu. Please indicate your preference when filling in the RSVP form.

What can I do with my time between the ceremony and reception?

There’s a gap between the ceremony and reception to give you time to rest, freshen up, and make your way to the next venue. You’re welcome to explore nearby attractions, hang out at a cafe or simply relax before celebrations continue.

See here for our curated list of sightseeing and food recommendations!

What is the bathroom situation like?

Bathrooms are available at both venues.

Do I need to present my invitation upon arrival?

No. As long as you have RSVP’d, we’ll have your details. Click here to RSVP.

I will be driving. Is there on-site parking?

Yes, on-site parking is available at both venues. Please see here for more details on parking availability and validation.

What is the next best alternative if I am not driving?

The most convenient alternative to driving is to book an e-hailing vehicle — we recommend Grabcar — directly to the venue.

Please note that you will need to download the Grab app on your phone and register your mobile number before use.

Can I use public transport to get to the ceremony venue?

Unfortunately, there are no public transport connections near the church — we highly recommend taking a Grabcar if you are not driving.

Can I use public transport to get to the reception venue?

Yes, you may take the MRT (train). The Muzium Negara MRT station (Gate A Exit) on the Kajang line is directly connected to the hotel.

I got lost while finding my way to the venue(s) — who should I contact?

If you’re lost or feeling unsure on the day, please first double-check this FAQ and the “Our Big Day” page here for venue addresses, maps and timing.

In the event you still need help, text or call our day-of coordinator (Eleanor) at +6012-660 8697. Please do not contact Eleanor outside of the wedding day; she is not involved in any other aspects of the wedding.

Do I need a visa to enter Malaysia? (Non-Malaysians only)

Most nationalities do not need a visa for short-term visits to Malaysia. Please double-check with your local embassy.

What airport should I fly into?

There are 2 main airports serving Kuala Lumpur, approximately a 5-minute drive from each other.

Most airlines fly into Kuala Lumpur International Airport (“KLIA”) Terminal 1* while budget carriers such as Airasia fly into KLIA Terminal 2**.

Both are about 45–60 minutes from the city center.

*also known as KLIA1
**also known as KLIA2

What’s the best way to get from KLIA1/KLIA2 to the city?

The most convenient way to get to the city is via the KLIA Express (train) or by booking a ride on an e-hailing platform (Grab).

Touts at the exits may approach asking if you’re looking for a taxi; while not aggressive, they may be persistent. Just ignore them or say no firmly.

What currency is used in Malaysia?

The Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Credit/debit cards (including Wise) are widely accepted, but we recommend carrying some cash for smaller vendors and as a back-up.

Where can I get a Malaysian SIM card?

You can get a physical SIM card at the airport (major telecom carriers are CelcomDigi, Maxis, U-Mobile) or get an eSIM on a trusted online platform such as Klook.

What neighbourhood should I stay in?

Most visitors to KL, especially first-timers, choose to stay at the KLCC or Bukit Bintang area near major attractions, shopping and nightlife. If you’d like to be close to our wedding venues, we recommend staying in the Midvalley or KL Sentral area — both are also convenient and well-connected.

What should I do in KL? What are some must-dos?

Check out our curated list of recommendations for sightseeing, shopping and food — including some of our favourite spots — on our “Stay + Explore” page, linked here.

What is the weather like in Malaysia in October?

It is sunny (hot) and humid year-round, with the occasional rain. Pack light, breathable clothing and a compact umbrella!

Should I rent a car in KL?

Not recommended unless you’re exploring outside the Klang Valley (KL and Selangor) area. Traffic and parking can be challenging. Use Grab or public transport instead.

Will language be an issue?

Not at all! Malaysia is a proudly multilingual and multicultural country — most (if not all) Malaysians speak English alongside Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and Chinese dialects.

What are some apps I should download and use in Malaysia?

We suggest downloading these free apps before your arrival in Malaysia:
1) Grab for multifunctional use, primarily for transport and food delivery
2) Google Maps or Waze for navigation
3) WhatsApp for messaging
4) Wise for payment in MYR without credit card fees

When is the RSVP deadline?

The deadline is 15 August 2025, after which the RSVP page will be closed. If you missed the deadline, please reach out to us as soon as possible — we’ll try our best to accommodate you.

What should I do if my name is spelled incorrectly on the invite?

We are so sorry for this error! Please contact us as soon as possible to rectify it.

I cannot find my name on the RSVP page or load the RVSP form. What do I do?

Please check that you have entered your name exactly as printed on the invitation envelope. If the error persists, reach out to us for assistance.

Can I bring a friend or a date as my plus-one?

We have included the number of seats reserved for you (e.g. 1, 2, 3 etc) on the invitation. Please check to see how many guests are included in your party! Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at either venue.

Someone within my party can no longer attend — do I need to update my RSVP?

Yes, please update the form here so we can make the relevant adjustments. If the page has closed (after 15 August 2025), reach out to us directly.

Will there be a livestream or virtual attendance option?

No, there will not be a livestream of the ceremony or reception.

I don’t know anyone else attending or I’m unsure if there’ll be anyone I know at the wedding. Is that weird?

Not at all! We’ll be sure to place you at a friendly table. If you’re really nervous, reach out to us and we’ll see if we can connect you with a friend before the wedding!

Who can I contact if I have more questions?

You can reach out to us via this form or message us directly on WhatsApp!
